The Manitoba Soccer Association (MSA) has established a reinvestment grant program which looks to reinvest 25% ($4 out of $16) of every mini player registration back to the youth member organisation that registers the player. The money is intended to be reinvested directly into grassroots programming, being used for but not limited to items such as equipment, coach honorariums, coach training, facility rentals, etc.
The reinvestment program started during the 2022/23 year. Clubs began to be recognised through the Club Licencing program in late 2019, when mini soccer player registrations officially became mandatory. 2020 was unfortunately hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, and soccer was shut down. 2021 was a gradual return to play and included reduced player fees. And in 2022, soccer returned to regular programming with full player fees.
As part of the reinvestment grants, clubs are asked to provide a follow up report to indicate how the money received is being spent. This will help ensure that the money is being reinvested back into mini soccer programming at each individual club/organisation. Clubs who do not provide a follow up report will not be eligible to receive funding in subsequent years. The Follow Up Report Form can be found HERE.
